When I used to work in J-town, I had to go check up on my car in the garage every hour.. damn thieves either steal ur stuff or just vandalize your car..

Yeah, now that you mentioned I thinkt he same think about J-town. But look at this map I got my clues from...

Its kinda like on the all the corners of the Ricmond, Presidio and Hayes Valley. Fillmore goes right thought that "Five" area, right? So I'd put it in that Hayes Valley one... *shrug*

The worst part is the fact that most of the Sunset and Richmond district car thieves are from south bay. They drive up here and prowl our 'burbs' looking for imports to steal or strip.
My buddy has a theory that it's Jiffy Lube. He got his Acura stolen twice, both times within a week after going to Jiffy Lube. Kinda makes sense. The guys that work their are usually young car junkies and they would have full knowledge of your security system, parts, and most importantly, your address.
Needless to say, no one we know uses their real address at Jiffy Lube anymore.

Yeah I left my car at a place that asks for your key (day parking garage) on Stillman and 4th. That night my car was stolen, wheels and some engine parts (not my WRX). Couple of weeks later a friend said he saw my wheels in Chinatown on an EG6.
I don't give my key out to kids working at garages (or anywhere) for that matter. If I HAVE TO give my key out I'll disable all security systems and tell the guy I know where everything is in my car and what it should look like and I'll know if anything has been taken apart. Then I take anything w/ my address on it with me (i.e. registration and insurance) and use cash to pay.
