My cat sprayed for 2 years straight and only when we went on vacation and returned would he do it. At age 3 we neutered him and it actually did help tremendously.

Yeah, you only use the detergent wash when your doing the steps I listed. For regular washing you want to use car wash soap that won't strip away the wax or in your case the clearcoat. If done proper, you'll only need to wax your car 2 to 3 times a year.
