before i took my 4runner four wheeling, i took very good care of the it. buffing, waxes, etc.
as soon as i owned it outright, i started 4 wheeling with it. then a few minor scratches from those manzania (SP?) plants. the worse thing to hear are the branches off that plant just scraping themselves on the lengthwise of your truck.
the first few times, i would worry and cry over the paint.
then one day, i figured, this is a truck, and the scratches just go along...
now i say, i have custom pinstriping by mother nature...
and i have some custom geodesic modification (rock dents ) by johnson valley outlet malls...

I guess I'm the DUMBASS in my case ... I'm more bothered by the scratches in the interior of the car, which are all caused by me.
BIG scratch on the arm rest from the recent seat install/removal
Of course, those cheap *** plastic pieces are easily replacable, but I'm still bothered.

I know what you mean! Dings and Dents bug the living p|$$ outta me....My car got door dinged the first weekend I had it.....I was so p|ssed off, I couldda dragged the person who did it around by their nose hairs (a minivan driver ofcourse)....but my baby was no longer flawless..... Then the dent dude came out to UCKK and I got him to take a look at it....I figured he could pop the dent out but I would still be able to see where it was....well he popped it out in like 3.5 seconds....and I am VERY critical about my car....and I eyeballed ever square inch of the entire side of my car that was dinged....and you couldnt even tell the ding was ever there in the first place.....my baby was restored back to its original flawlessness....  and I have kept it that way ever since....but I do not park in any parking spaces unless I feel 110% comfortable with the size/placement of the parking space (usually an end spot), or parking out in BFE where everyone else will avoid due to extreme laziness and the unwillingness to walk the extra distance. I am going on 2 years (in august) with my WRX now.....and she is STILL flawless....with the exception of a very minor scrape on the bottom right side of my front bumper, courtesy of Stevens Creek Subaru.... anyways, the point of the story is.....if you are constantly concious about your car and the immediate surroundings around it.....it CAN stay immaculate.....but it DOES take alot of work picking parking spaces....<shrug>
thats my 2¢ anywayz.

LMAO....I know exactly how you feel, I was that way with my truck too....and then decided, Like you, that this IS a truck....a 4x4 too...and I fully intend on actually wheeling it....so you have to just accept the custom pinstripes......but my car doesnt go out in the boonies like my truck...so I baby it all the time...but my truck has earned its dings n dents.....with the exception of the tailgate where some a$$hole jimmied the lock and dented the crap outta the TG, while stealing my stereo...
