Like most of you guys I've grown up watching Dennis deliver the news since I was knee high to a grasshopper. When I was growing up I had a t.v. in my room that only got off the air signals and KTVU came in the best. Needless to say, Dennis was there every night as I was getting ready for bed. Last night's newscast was very emotional and it's hard to imagine a 10 o'clock news without him.

I remember watching Dennis newscasts when i was living in Chico and tuning to bay area stations on my rabbit ears trying to catch A's or Warriors games. He and Al Hart are the face and voice of Bay Area news.

like the old pro athletes in the pre free-agency, richmond stayed with the same channel.

these days, you see in-front camera talents jump ship like crazy and it's nice to see someone stick it out through thick and thin.

i met this guy once when i worked in toys r us a decade or 2 ago.

that is my reason for having respect for him.

Like many of you, I've watched him since I was born. Back then (the earliest I can remember), it was Dennis Richmond and Elaine Corral. Good times!

Watched the whole broadcast the other day and I will definitely miss him.

I was at my folks place earlier watching the broadcast, and my Ma asked me if I knew what happened to Leslie Griffith. For some reason I thought she did the 5:00 broadcast. I just looked it up & she left a couple years ago. Dayum! Where are my awareness & recognition skills?

Anyway, back on topic...

Things won't be the same w/o Dennis "in" our living rooms.
from what my sister told me, since she used to work at KTVU...if you noticed in all of Dennis Richmond's tribute videos and even that last day of his, you only saw one shot of Leslie Griffith....reason is people at KTVU dont think of her too highly because she did a "no-notifying", this is my last broadcast announcement...pretty much it was asking the producers for an extra 2min before the news was over and she shocked everyone!

Yep, been watching Dennis Richmond and the "There's only one 2" 10 O'clock news since i was a wee boy. Every night it was, especially since the parental units put me to bed early as a kid, no 11 O'clock news for me!

Good stuff, wish Dennis the best in his retirement...Enjoy the time in Grass Valley. What's up with the like 50 Golf Clubs he had in his garage??? and he has his own golf cart (insert EJ20 now)?!

And Elaine Corral, represent for Westmoor in DC!! ahha sorry, had to do it!

one more thing...and what was up with Leslie Griffith??? Was it just me, or at the end, was her voice sounding hella hoarse and ogrish?

wowzers, i didn't know the circumstances of her departure. it sounds a lot like when elaine corral left. just a shock to everyone @ the studio... just before the end of the broadcast, she announces that she'll be leaving to 'pursue personal goals' or something to that effect, iirc. WTF?
