Crappy day at Sears Point :(

When I had a catback exhaust and an MBC I did

60ft 1.934
1/8th 8.952@75.78
14.016@95.21

Today at Infineon with an added Perrin uppipe, Vishnui IC hoses, the MBC replaced with a Blitz DSBC-SpecR (~15.8psi warn/limit) I did

60ft 1.959
1/8th 8.951@76.68
14.065@96.22

Almost identical runs... although that extra MPH is pretty nice... but DAMMIT SO FREAKING CLOSE to 13.x. I dunno wtf ws going on. I was having launching problems (my own feet) but I was pretty much getting that under control. 1.9x isn't the best but will do just fine. I just don't get why there's virtually no diffrence. I know my butt dyno isn't that gullable. The uppipe and EBC certainly make a difference.

I have noticed things have been sluggishly lately. I had to leave my car off the battery for a couple of hours about 2 weeks ago. I just plugged it back in and went about some granny driving. That previous time at that track I had just semi-reset the ECU on the way to the track because I overboosted with the MBC and had to get ride of the CEL. So maybe that made a difference... I dunno. I was expecting at least 13.8 :-/

The only real difference I can be scientifically sure of is that the runs I did last year at the same Summit/NRHA event it was 10 degrees cooler around the same time of day. Would 10degF made that much difference? Rel. Humiditiy was down by 3 and abs barometer was up by 0.26.

If you subtract out 60ft (launch issues)
the '02 run is 12.097. For today its 12.123... a differnece of 0.026. And, that extra mph was gained in the first 1/8th. I figure I held 1st gear a bit longer. But then, thats me, not modifications.

For the record, all WRX owners seemed to be disappointed... well... not ESX, they ran a fat 9.7! A new world record

Could your tires be the culprit?

Reset it again, in a place where you can reset it, then start it up, let it idle til the fans kick on, shut it off, then IMMEDIATELY do some hard 3rd gear pulls. Instant power. Whatever your car makes at its best, you'll make after that.

What makes you suggest this? I wasn't having an AWD traction problem At anyreate, I've got 2 month old Yoko ES100s.

Interesting side note... that best run from last year, I chirped the front on launch and shifting to 2nd. I thought it was my competitor in the next lane... but his Integra was too far back

Yeah, I'm familiar with the resetting process, however, thank you still for the advice. I had been planning to give it a good, cold overnight chill and warmup and then hard runs... but I just didn't have the opportunity. I shoulda made the time :-/ I could just kick myself... I paid $60 for 4 runs (I got there really late) under crappy tuning conditions. Blah well... maybe I can find a few Wed nights at Sears before the season's over and get my damned 13s

Getting into the 13's seemed like taking for ever for me too. Just continue to work on your launches. If you can get your 60' time down to low 1.9's and 1.8's you will be in the 13's. Practiec makes perfect.

Also, try this trick that Shiv performs on all of his re-mapped ECU's. This trick also works on stock ECU's, Unichip and UTEC equipped ECU's.

I have performed it many times and it works perfectly. You can always tell it worked when your gas mileage does not suffer, like after every other ECU reset.
