is it wrong to defend yourself, and more importantly, your lady? I dig what you are saying though

and I probably don't fully understand the legalities behind self defense, but if you feel threatened for your life and can prove that, doesn't that indicate self defense?

Taking "defense" to the max is once of the worst ways to defend yourself. Why do you think police try to diffuse the situation before resorting to force?

I agree - I am being general about my statement - I do not know what type of knife, how big the dude is...etc.

The point I am trying to make is - just because someone mugs you does NOT make it right to pull a gun on him.

He would not walk. I'd bet good money that if this dude pressed charges he would not walk.

If he would have pulled his gun and taken the guy down the police probably would have ignored the "gun"... maybe.

But the fact that he turned the tables and mugged the dude... then gave away his money. Used his cc and his phone. That makes him a criminal. Period.

I'd give mad props if he just scared the **** out of the dude. Then took his wallet to the authorities. I'm all for turning the tables alla crocadile dundee and **** but still.

What if the guy reacted differently and stabbed him. Then got his gun and put a bullet in both he and his lady. Lady dies and he lives. How would he feel? I am definitely one to stand up for my family and friends. I've put a few guys down over the years for messing with my family.

But look at it this way. I was attacked in my car. Alone I would have been on top of him like gorilla on a banana tree and worked his *** over but I had my wife and brother in the car. As difficult as it was... I drove away.

I'm not saying he should have handed over the money... I probably wouldn't have. But I wouldn't have held the guy up... then bragged about it.

Batman would have left him tied to the flag pole at SFPD.

I would love to hear what he would say to the police though!

"Hi, I'd like to turn in this wallet from someone that tried to mug me."
"They tried to mug you, but you have THEIR wallet?
"Yes."
"Now how did that happen?"
"I pulled a gu....I'm a ninja."
