Costco mounting

Well, if you didnt already know, Costco has one of the cheapest tire mounting services available, $10/tire (no tax on labor). So I rolled down to my local Costco with my new Yokohamas this morning and the manager takes one look at my 17" rims and said he couldn't do it, "WRX's only come with 16" or 18" wheels. Say so right here in my computor."

WTF?! He wouldn't touch them at all. I had to drive to a dealership to pick up an accessories booklet showing the glorious 17" dealer options for a WRX. Now that that is settled, he does the mounting and I'll give them some credit, they hand torque lug nuts on all installs.

So I drive home and I notice the bastards put what look like SUV wheel valve stems on. They must be 3" long. Dammit all to hell.

Think they'll change the valve stems if I go back?

Which Costco is this? I went to the one in SR and had no problems when I brought in a set of 17" rims and put upsized tires on my car. In fact he told me to bring it back after 50 miles of driving so he can re-torque the lug nuts because they were new rims.

I believe so. Plus $1 per tire to dispose.

I like the local costco, but thats only because we ended up getting to know the guy. He does great work (only $9/tire in Sac).

But honestly, since there is inherient variataion in costco stores, I'm not suprised that there is bad service at quite a few of them. I really won't suggest it to anyone except those in Sac (and I'm talking about the Costco on sunrise).

Costco will take back or fix anything. Just doing some b*tching and it will be fine. My friend took a tv back after using it for a couple of years and the customer service rep. didn't even think twice. They are such push overs there.

hey, i work at costco. the reason we take back anything, no matter how old it is, is because we get credit back from the manufacterer. the only thing that has a limit is computers, which is six months. and sorry you recieved poor service Huck. some costcos are better than others.

have you seen the ones the came OEM with the STi? those can take an eye out...

FWIW, i'v had GREAT service with costco. granted it was with my truck.

i "abused" the lifetime balance warranty. sometimes, when i went 4 wheeling, the weights would get knocked off so i went often. after a couple times, the guy knew me by name and half the time, didnt even fill out the paper work...

sure you got a guy who was having a bad day. just give them another chance.

another great thing with costco is that EVERY costco will do the work too. it was great when i was 4 wheeling hundred of miles away from home and driving back home with unbalanced tires is a *****. so i would try to find a local costco...
