Corvette vs. M5 on 280 South @ ~4pm 130mph+
okay, i was coming back to the south bay after spending the day in SF, heading southbound on 280 in between the foothill exit and 85. traffic was doing about 80 when i heard, yes, heard the wail of an engine behind me. i was in the second from the right lane, and a silver vette blasted by doing AT LEAST 130. i've spent enough time at tracks to be a pretty damn good judge of speed, and this guy was screaming. about a second and a half later, a silver M5 blasted by going roughly the same pace.
um, when the hell did people in $70k sportscars start freeway racing at 4pm in the afternoon on sundays? WTF? must be nice owning a car that only a motorola can catch...

i agree, sunday afternoon on 280 is not the place to race like that. if you can throw down the cash for a vette or an M5, you can also afford some track time.
oh, and i can't be sure, but i think the vette spanked the M5 pretty good. the road there curves a bit, and i caught sight of them through one of the curves, but the BMW didn't apear to be gaining ground.

actually, it was a silver 'vette. i couldn't see any z06 badges -- but that's probably due to the speed of the car. he sure as hell didn't loose this one.
