Corporate Bullying At It's Finest: Monster Energy vs. Rock Art Brewery

I simply have no words for this other than how messed up this is. A small, but growing, business in Vermont is getting bullied over the name "Monster" and this guy's product is a 10th anniversary beer called "Vermonster". There's a dispute over copyright infringement. I normally don't post or spam links like this to get the word out about something, but there's enough in this story that bugs the hell out of me about this situation.

Ha haa nice! I dig Adam Carolla, funny guy.
To the OP thanks for sharing. I hope this guy wins this case and still has a buisness left after. I'll drink a Monster every now and then but not after this.

I used to drink monster a lot. I like their sponsorship of motorsports, I like the way the drink tastes, but I hate corporate bullying.
I will now switch back exclusively to coffee

that does not make them any less of a ****ty company. At least they have some resemblance to the trademark name since they are both drinks..
but when Monster Cable sued anything with the name "monster".. that was a bit crazy.

I'd like to hear more about big companies steam rolling over the little guy's rights so I can add em to my sh it list of establishments/companies I'll no longer patronize.

Basically, you have to ask whether "relevant consumers" would be confused as to source, affiliation, or sponsorship between the two brands/products/services. If one "Monster" makes a/v cables, and the other "Monster" makes energy drinks, IMO, you'd have to be a moron to confuse the two.
On the other hand, "Vermonster" beer and "Monster Energy Drinks" are both beverages, so it comes closer, but seriously, c'mon. Besides, doesn't Ben & Jerry's have some giant ice cream sundae thing called the Vermonster? I don't see them getting crap for it....
