I had a tune done at eq they are very educated and have a great shop. If you take it to anyone in my opinion eq would be the place to go. If you are going to take on the challenge of rebuilding yourself be ready. I have done a build engine&trans and I had a successful go of it. Though I come from a family of sprint car racers and mechanics.
Please read on if you want a little insight.

Personal experience if you rebuild add 1k for things you don't know you need/ build with better parts cw main& rod bearings better rods cp's + 3k for stuff you don't know you will need lol also you will still need to drop stuff of at a shop for valves(subaru does oe Heads for about 550 w/shims) you will need to have your crank balanced heads shaved cylinders honed short block shaved on halves and the head end. Download the subaru shop service manual online(i paid 14.00$ for it on the web) It will give you a break down of everything and how to do it what to tq put on each bolt EVERYTHING. Subarugenuineparts.com has everything you need for oe rebuild. Just so you know don't force ANYTHING, take your time and good luck! Pm me if you have any questions.
