check out zillow.com if you're looking for a house. otherwise, try out craigslist for a room. good luck with grad school .

gonna be a pretty big difference moving from irvine to berk. Good luck, you should get use to it pretty quick. Berk will break you in

And as for housing, rent.com, apartments.com or craigslist.com. Look for an apartment, and unless your balling, you'd need a roomate.

I just went to craigslist.com when i moved out from the dorms 2 years ago.
But you probably need a roommate for the apartment. coz single room with bathroom usually goes for 1300 a month if you wanna live near campus.

or for about 1000 a month, you can live in Berkeley owned housing.

Hopefully I can get into grad school next year too.
It'll be cool to see another subaru around, but be extremely careful when you park on the street here in berkeley. People can't park, and they can care less if they hit your car while parking.

For grad students, they might have grad school housing. That might be easier than finding something around berk. The only thing easy to find in berk are potholes. hehe

Welcome!

I'd follow the above suggestions. If you are bringing your subie, make sure you have parking assigned to your place. Parking is hard to find in B town

I hear there are a lot of break-ins that are perpetrated by the hippies... is that true?

I dunno about that...there is all sorts of other criminal activity in berkeley from non-hippies

Its on the border of oakland, ya know?
