Cocaine is a helluva drug
E-mail I recieved from my Mom on 4/27/06. She is down at their house on the eastern coast of Mexico, halfway between cancun and the border of Belize. Scooby is my parents dog, Selvie - live in worker/friend, Arlene - neighbor, Javier - friend, lawyer.
Its funny how desenistized you get by this kind of stuff... people just don't think it happens, all trapped in their current region of the world. That **** could have been on our streets within a month or two, your neighbors and friends could have been using it. What some people do for money at the expense of other peoples health is amazing.

A little excitement this morning!!!! At 7 am, I was awakened by Scoobie & Shoo Shoo barking at a boat with 2 guys in it very close to the shore. They had a pole & were pushing the boat. Should have been suspicious, but I got back in bed & read.
Well, about 1/2 hr later, Selvie & Arlene's worker came & got us to see what was washing up in the surf............. da da......
cocaine - 28 huge bags of it!!!!!!! Each wrapped in plastic & an army green canvas bag. I have never seen that much drugs & it boggles the mind the street value of that much pure cocaine!!!!! Probably several million dollars. Arlene called the Federal police for drug enforcement, I called Javier who also called the ones he knew to ask for help. We loaded the bags into Selvie's wheel barrel & took it up by Arlene's house & stood watch until the Feds arrived. 9 Feds came with cameras & assault rifles - they asked all of us to get off the beach & began to take pictures, stand guard & patrol the beach. They are still here patrolling & questioning people.
While we were standing over the drugs out on the beach, we noticed a man wading in the water down by Casa Cenote watching us watching him. He finally disappeared but we are betting that was the guy for the drop & we think the boat was looking for the cache but the dogs scared them off.
So, what we have been told about Columbian drug runners & drops here on the beach is true. Unfront & very personal this morning!!! We told Selvie he should probably get a reward - his reply was he is lucky they didn't cuff him!!!!
More later............................... mom"

At first I joked around with my mom... "You gave it to the Police... WTF. You could have put me through an Ivy League College, Dad could have had a Ferrari, could have bought the whole block around your house in Mexico"

I was supposed to be there too, got held up at work because I had nobody to cover for me if I took vacation time.
My sister is getting married there in July though, so thats a definite trip for me.
