Cobb stage 2 - Ca map or regular 91 oct
I moved up here from San Diego several months ago, and have always used the stage 2 Ca map on my 04 wagon. I was thinking about changing my basemap to the regular 91 octane stage2 map.
Is the gas any better up here in the bay area? Has anyone had any problems with the regular stage 2 91oct map around here? Pretty soon I will get a protune, but until then, I thought I would try the other map. Those of you with OTS maps, what are you using for a basemap?

I ran the non-CA stage 2 91 Oct map in my '02 wagon. I never had any problems,
but I also never put the car on a dyno either.
I doubt the gas in the SF Bay Area is any better or worse. I usually used Union 76 or Shell.
Good luck and welcome the the Bay Area.

What?^^^ I'm originally from the bay area and prefer the niners, but could honestly give a **** about football.
Thanks for everyone elses feedback. I'll stick with the Ca map for now.

I ran the stage 2 map for awhile, then swtiched to the CA map, it seemed noticably smoother
I dyno'd my STi (was going in for a pro-tune) at Gruppe-S and put down 266/275 on the cali map, Mike said it was one of the highest he had seen from an off the shelf maps so he advised not to tune it

I never experienced any pinging or knocking with stage2 91. Reading this thread was enough to get me to go do the whole AccessPort upgrade process to get the latest maps so I could try out the Cali map. Unmarry the AP, dig up the power supply and serial cable, run the AP upgrade, upgrade the map software, dl the latest maps, remarry the AP, flash the cali map. What a lot of work! I'm running stage2 cali now. I'll reply if I see any noticable affect on performance.
