CO2 tank exchange shop in San Jose?

I'm looking for a (usually welding supply) shop in San Jose that'll fill a CO2 tank, or preferably just do an exchange program (I drop off my empty one, they give me a full one). The further north the better though, since I'm in Sunnyvale.

My only problems are that the tank used to be used for Pepsi fountains, so it says "Property of Pepsi Cola" and I can't find a hydro date on it

I used to fill my tanks over at the Carbonix store off of De La Cruz Blvd in Santa Clara. There's also a Praxair which is across the street from it on Reed.

I can check with my local shop, they use someone local, though they are located in Milpitas.

I think you will have a hard time getting a swap with a tank that says "owned by pepsi cola". I'm a 155 cf inert gas cyllinder owner and they are very perticular about what bottles they accept.

Pepsi no longer uses this kind of system and many of the warehouses that have closed sold their co2 tanks and kegs straight to the public without removing any "property of..." stickers.

If you really can't find anything you could try the local paintball shops like "Frontline". They probably wont have the most convenient system, but it would get the job done.

I have a 20 pound tank, I don't think they'd have an exchange program set up for that

Have you tried Airgas? They are a pretty large welding supply company that should be able to fill it with CO2.

MoreBeer does on an exchange basis. Check with them for other sources if your tanks are really weird. Also, I know Devil's Canyon maintains theirs and sends out tanks with their kegs so if they don't do it they know someone who does..

Perfect! I'll swing by there tomorrow. If for some reason they can't help me out I'll check Madco, and then the places down south towards San Jose.
