Definitely nothing new, though it may just be that more of the cars/bikes/SUVs are equiped with it now vs. previously.

My buddy's cousin is an SJ cop said they have SUVs that they just drive down the street and it checks registration on cars via a camera to see if any of them are not reigsterered or registered non-op or reported stolen.

Sorry bro, that really sucks getting caught. I don't know if it would help. But, if you need to get that ticket taken care of, I would recommend you contact Strider327 on i-club. He's pretty good with helping folks getting off on tickets. Although he doesn't guarantee a victory I have had 5 successful cases by him helping me out.

I saw 3 cars on 280 near the 380 interchange today. 2 of them pulled someone over and the 3rd one was shooting laser.

Then later on today I saw a few SFPD pull people over. Crazy, I usually never see SFPD ticket anyone.

If you had to have 5 cases for tickets, maybe the problem isn't the police?

Yes and no. Most of the time, its just being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I usually drive very conservatively.

It happens. I recently got 2 within 2 months. Totally my fault, so I can't really talk

I see CHP using laser in Sonoma County all the time. I would say that Laser is more common than Radar on 101-N.

i got a ticket for going 72 in a 65 at night with light traffic going the flow of traffic. That sucked. Fighting it cause he paced me.

If ur caught with a laser jammer, i think that's a pretty hefty fine.

I went to court for my last ticket. The judge only dropped it 10%, which was almost not even worth my time to go there for.

well if your talking about laser jammers for cars we already have those, check Hucks post from the last page. And no they arent illegal like radar jammers. Radar jammers are illegal because its against the law to use a device to block ANY kind of radio wave, and this has to do with the FCC and not reall about using it just to defeat radar detectors.

Wait, if that's true then I'm legal, I don't have a Radar Jammer, I have a Radar Transmitter, and your Transmitter Mr. Officer is interfering with mine! (this is unlicensed RF, so anyone can transmit as long as they abide by the FCC rules for power and antenna size).

I never realized my Radar Transmitter is legal.

I finally found the FCC reference, the K band is unlicensed, so as long as you follow the rules for power output and antenna size you can transmit on it. Hook it up to your door alarm.

The Ka band is licensed, you cannot transmit on it without a license.
