Here's an interesting question - why is it so hard to put your front plate on?

werd.

traffic cops scans hundreds of cars a day and make a determination in seconds about who they're going to single out to harrass, around here its 3 things every time: window tint, modfied exhaust, front plate. If you can get by these things they usually dont bother you, after 40K miles I get passed by cops all the time after they look me up and down but have never gotten pulled over. Just my 2cents.

As always, you're right on, Alan. Keep your car looking legal, keep out of the sights of Jonny Law. I keep all my stuff as legal as I can (though my painfully stylish cf blinker covers are illegal I think) to stay out of trouble with the police. I don't want them to have ANY reason to stop me

I think what he meant was that Univ cops arn't out there taking names and kick'n *** (real police work). They just hang out and undress the female students with thier eyes all day long (I'm not saying that's a bad thing). Hell, I wish I could hang out on a campus and get paid for flirting with hotties all day, and not have to worry about taking down violent offenders...

Car Info: this required information?
hey guys, dont belive park rangers, this may be true, but park rangers can pull you over and write you tickets, and they pull over for stupid stuff like loud exhaust, so he might have been just saying to mess with you guys, but i dunno. plus i have a car in the family that doesnt have a place for a license plate so CHP cant write that car a ticket. plus arent they just fixit tickets? just get them writen off.

EDIT: the thing about the camera's at bridges and stuff is a bunch of bull. they dont have the funding for camera's there talking about laying people off, not spend a bunch of money on camera for front license plates.

University cops are the "I got nothing better do" people of the world. Any little thing they'll get you. God forbid you still are parked at 12:01AM in a zone that says "No parking after midnight" They get you at 12:02 or on your way out.

My dad's been bugging me about putting my front plate back on. But man. Has anyone tried washing their WRX with that thing on? There could be some severe arm-cutting action going on if you're not careful.

You guys misheard the Ranger. What he said was the CHP were enforcing the law because of the increase of using cameras on toll booths and at intersections. No front plate means the state could be losing revenue on you. That's why they are increasing the crack down. With California's current budget problems it makes a lot of sense.
