Cherry Farm (U-pick) near Bay Area?

Anyone have recommendations on which one to go to? I see quite a few in Brentwood and I think a few in Gilroy.

I'm planning on taking my daughter for her first cherry picking this coming weekend (weather permitting).

If you have recommendations on specific cherry farms and how to prepare, I would appreciate it.

TIA!

Brentwood has several, right by my house. Usually on the weekends it's pretty popular. There are a bunch on marsh creek ed in between hwy 4 and vasco rd.

Take her in the morning or later in the afternoon. Sometimes kids aren't used to the intense sun and can get heatstroke. No real need to prepare. I guess make sure she has some old clothes, comfortable clothes on, closed toes shoes, all that stuff. Maybe some wipes or towel and some water to wipe her hands down. Cherry juices are sticky and can stain. You comfortable with her being on a ladder?

I've only been to one and it was such a long time ago I can't even remember the name of the place.

thanks for the responses but I was hoping someone would say: "go to John's farm" or something like that. Is one better than the other? Why?

I know there's a ton out there but they are not all equal, right? Is one pricier than the other? better facilities/amenities? etc

Thanks again

We went out to Freitas in Brentwood last year. They have plenty of ladders and buckets for you. Eat as much as you want, and pay for what you take home. Make sure to bring some water since it gets damn hot out there. And a barf bag for the little one and the wife. Vasco Rd. has pretty decent twisties. Enjoy!
