Cheapest place to purchase motorcycle helmets
Anyone here know of any place where I can purchase new quality motorcycle helmets at reasonable prices? Either online, or near the San Jose area.
Thank you

Road Rider in San Jose

You might want to go to Road Rider and try some on to see what kind fits you best. Then either buy one there or online. Good luck.

You can also try Santa Clara Cycle Accessories... but yeah, the links blue blurr linked to are sponsors at 600rr.net, and they ALL rock. You can also check the bayarearidersforum.com sponsors and get good deals at places like motostrano (just mention that you are a barf member and get 5% off).

I'm checking my files for where I bought my latest helmet at. It was from florida with free shipping and no tax. Under $400 for an X-11 and daijiro limited edition. This place had better prices than anyone and I looked for a month. Great prices and I bought 5 visors for $80 june last year. When i find it I will post the link. They don't post their price but if you email them they will send the list to you.
+Road Rider has good prices if you have bought lots of stuff from them in the past. They keep track and I use my dads info when I buy gloves and oil etc.
edit. found it

The deal I got on the helmet was $379 11/2003 but I would buy from them again. It was a limited edition Daijiro kato Memorial X-11 helmet Just shoot them an email and get the price list. Hopefully they still have low prices.

He asked for *quality* helmets, specifically.
DOT-only doesn't cut it in my book. At a minimum I'd recommend a DOT/Snell approved HJC helmet, if you've got a tight budget. If not, go with Shoei/Arai/Suomy. If you want bling, buy graphics, if not, you can save $150.
Look at New Enough for helmets. A friend of mine just bought a quality HJC helmet for under $100 there. http://www.newenough.com
Or you can try Motorcycle Superstore. http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/

don't buy a used helmet ever. They are only designed for one drop even if you can't see the damage. You get what you pay for in a helmet. i love ebay but I'd never buy a helmet off their. I see people with circa 80's and early 90's helmets all the time. Helmets have expiration dates. You get what you pay for in safety equipment.
