Cheap-ish Tires: Eagle F1 GS-D3 205/50ZR16 on sale for $56/ea at Tirerack
Not a super great deal, but not bad if you're willing to go a little lower profile than stock on the 16" WRX wheels.

+1 to this tire...it is what is on my Impala SS (in a bit, ummm, "bigger" sizing
) and is pretty much one of the best rain tires out right now. TONS better in the wet and dry than the stock Subie tires ![Smilie](https://www.i-club.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The shorter sidewall will help a bit in gearing, which the WRX could use anyways
