Question Changing front discs?

Has anybody replaced front rotors yet on 2002 & up?

It looks like the rotors and hubs are one unit? Are the wheel bearings pressed in, or do the hubs float separate?

I suspect I may have a LF bearing starting to go at 39K miles, I get a very slight growl when turning. So if I'm going in for the bearing, I may as well change rotors at the same time and install new pads.

What are you guys using for rotors? Dealer stuff?

Thanks for the help-
Jim

I swapped in DBA slotted rotors myself and they work great. I had never put in rotors or pads before and found the entire process to be fairly easy. Take off the wheel, take off the screws holding the caliper in place, suspend the caliper or have someone hold it so it doesn't stretch the brake line, slide the rotor off, and repeat all these steps in reverse order. Also you may have to push the piston on the caliper in to make it fit on the rotor...you can do that with C-clamp vices.
Good luck!

Get brembo solid discs from tirerack. They're very affordable.

If you want SS lines and pads and fluid, check out Stoptech Stage 2. It's $500 for all that plus slotted rotors, all 4 corners.
