Hmm - the plot thickens:
I got pissed off at my Glyde today again and called Samsung. They were happy to warranty the phone for me as long as a shipped it to Texas for 3-4 weeks with no replacement
So then I called Verizon - who basically told me to **** off. They could send me another of this phone and I would send mine in. BUT if my original phone checked out ok than I would have to pay the full retail price of a new version of the phone I hate.
So - the hell with them; I'm dropping Verizon.
I've always been fascinated by the G1/Android and the next generation (My Touch) is scheduled to go on sale in 2 weeks. Anyone heard anything other than the review that T-Mobile's site links to? I don't like that they went away from the QWERTY keyboard, but maybe I'm jaded because the Glyde is such a piece of crap
T-mobile makes me wary, but it looks like their bay area coverage is excellent, and I like the 3G/Wifi hybrid they offer.

UPDATE (yep, bringing this thread back from the dead).
I went today and got to demo the G2 (T-Mobile calls it the Mytouch). The thing is SUPER BADASS. Blows away the I-Phone. Smaller than the G1, much more intuitive and FAST.
The Mytouch is released on Aug 12th, and I think I'm getting in line on that day.
The T-Mobile network isn't as vast as some of the others , but I also realized that I live in Silicon Valley, which has 3G coverage everywhere within 100 square miles. I really don't travel like I used to (no more touring with bands) so the national coverage really isn't as important as it once was.
It looks like Mytouch it is....
