Carpool Violation

Carpool Violation
So a few months back I got a carpool violation for being in the carpool lane 5 minutes before it ended (that's a whole other story). I was told that this was not a point on my record (hence no option for traffic school) and the judge lowered my fine due to the situation.
Today, I just got my ****ing insurance rates raised due to the carpool offense showing up on my DMV record. Does this make sense? It's not a point yet it still shows up on my driving record? WTF? ARGH!
Anyone know anything in regards to this?
Violation: 21655.5(b) Failure to obey sign posted preferential traffic lane(s); exceptions – motorcycles, mass transit buses, and paratransit vehicles.
Huck = pissed.

I know in washington that all moving violations, no matter what state they occure in, will show up on your driving record. Some don't count as a strike against you, and some do. But most insurance companies no a days they will rase your rates for just driving your car. Those money sucking b*stards. And I have some friends in washington that are with the same company but different agents and the same car (both WRB STI's bought in the same month and no modifications when I left) and they are the same age and no violations. One agent has more claims done in the the previous year and one guy was getting the brunt end of it by paying 1100 more a year than the other. WTF, money sucking b*stards.
Enough ranting.
