Carlsen Subaru = w00t
Okay, the entire time I've been driving my 2.5RS (several months now I think?), I've never stepped into any dealership to get any work done since my old Integra was always taken to the family mechanic. So I decided to take my newest baby to get some warranty work done and to see if there's anything wrong with the car before I break anything without knowing it, haha. A lot of people on this board recommended either Carlsen or Santa Cruz. I don't feel like driving to Santa Cruz, so Carlsen was the best option.
I took it there this morning to get the wind noise fixed on my driver's side window. I don't know why Ron Price didn't fix it for the previous owner (he got his car from Ron Price and gets service done there), I mean, I have the paperwork for it. I also had this odd vibration on my brake and clutch pedals. So we assumed it was rotor warp in the rear, but that would be odd since I don't slam my brakes, I drive like a granny, and I'm not trying to do e-brake drifts from time to time, LOL. It turns out that they found out the motor was sitting a little too close to the master cylinder and that's what's causing the vibration. Wow. I've had a master cylinder fail on me while I'm driving before, so I'm glad they found it.
It was all under warranty too. So ya, Carlsen can add me to their list of happy customers.

wussup ish. dahveed, that's why i despise all air filters. i used to ride motocross and the thing i hated most about it was oiling the freaking air filters. talk about a royal PITA. this oil is the stickiest, thickest, nastiest crap you could imagine. that is the last thing i want in my car. i'll stick to the crappy paper filter and skip the hassle thank you very much. all those foam filters they sell, and even the cotton ones from K&N (who I despise more than any company in the world) have to be oiled in order for them to work properly. i've heard about enough people getting oil in their intakes from the freaking crankcase ventilation valve to be adding even more crap with an oiled filter. can't the intake just stay clean?!?!?!?!?! please?

Ah...Daveed, so it must have been you that I saw. Cuz I noticed when Kevin walked up to the service window, he was holding onto a box with an STi logo on it. I saw you roll up in the black WRX sedan with a catback system (it's N1 style, is it a Tanabe Racing Medallion? The tailpipe's short.). Kevin W. was driving the car and a white dude (you?) was in it.
I was there around 9:15 until 9:35. What are the odds? LOL
I'm the Chinese guy with black glasses who drives the silverthorn metallic 2.5RS sedan with the coupe spoiler and a small "STi" sticker on it with Ron Price plates. Hmm...I left my 50 Cent CD in the CD deck. Haha. My car was parked in the shop/service area in the front and I was parked in front of that OBS you were talking about, but I didn't see the owner.

hey takumi
it's not the engine was a little bit too close to the brake master cylinder, it's the alarm siren hit the master cylinder....
for the windnoise, actually it's hella mess behind the door panel, gusset out of adjustment, clips broken, bolts missing, seals broken............. try to do the best to fix and adjust everything , but the rubber window seal still have the bad memory from the wrong adjustment before, so u might still hear some windnoise before i replace the special order seal for u .
takecare

Oh, I see, my misunderstanding. I thought it would be weird if the engine was too close and I thought that's what it heard. Ah well, what you told me made much more sense. Hahah. That could explain why it happens on slopes and sudden stops. Thanks man!
Oh ya, I forgot to add, I'm stopping by to pick up the car around 8:30 a.m. I'll call you folks first.

Yup. That's why I won't use ITG filters anymore unless the car or motorcycle has carbs!

ckevin..
Speakin of Carlsen.. CKevin - I need to bring my car back in again (silver sedan with the creaking motor mount up left) but I want to make sure you will be the one checking it out. When should I make an appointment? Also, the clutch was adjusted and maybe it's just me but now I get a clunk in the rear end when I let it out half the time. Something else to check.
Anyway - let me know when a good time to schedule with you would be. I saw a couple sweet WRXs last time I was there, not sure who's who tho. Mine is a stock silver sedan. Wee!
