Well, IIRC, the cylinder that usually misfires is #3. Your sparks could be a problem, but I don't think that's it unless you're way overdue, and WRX's plats should last to 60k. It could be a vaccum leak too, one time my boost guage fell off the nipple and all 4 cylinders threw CELs (freaked the crap out of me).

It also could just be a simple misfire, like a hiccup, and won't happen again. That's happened to me too, but I reset my ECU and never happened again.

well i have a question too regarding my car too. lately ive been throwing CEL left and right. ill be driving down the road, sometimes under boost and sometimes when on boost and CEL comes on, but when i start it up the next day, CEL goes away... then the whole process restarts over again.

could it be boost creep???

i just hit 35K and i havent changed my plugs since my 30K service. im running the one step colder plugs, would it be a good idea to change em on my next oil change?

what would you guys recommend and whats going on with my car?????

Did you scan it? If not just hit me up and I'll pull the code for ya.

Oh and Henry I would try checking your plugs, maybe even the coil pack for #4 went bad who knows? Try the plugs first though, thats what I'd try.

This sounds like the plugs or a coilpack. Also, didn't you recently post that you added more modifications after a tune which resulted in increased boost levels? This couls certainly cause some other issues you may not be aware of. I would strongly recommend you talk to your tuner about the new modifications and this CEL.

Thanks

IIRC, even if the CEL turns off, it still stores the code unless you reset the battery.
