car audio guru... need ur help...

k... i have f90bt as my HU, amps in the back... front/tweeter and rear speakers are perfectly fine and working as expected, but my sub is not...

i've swapped the cable at the amp side from rear to the sub amp, and sub/amp works fine. move them back to normal, then at the HU end i swapped the rear out with sub out and sub comes on, so cable/wire is fine as well. i've tried taking just the sub left ch and just the right ch, no good...

here is the kicker, if i take either the left or right at any pt (HU or amp side), ground it by touching the connector and the amp body itself, the sub comes on fine....

some kind of grounding issue? what else can i try?

TIA

Leo

good simple read...

i guess i'll be checking the pre amp shield connection tomorrow...

i know this RCA shield repair would work for sure, but feels like a hack job for me...

Did you turn the Subwoofer output on on the F90BT?

Top Menu -> Settings -> AV Sound -> Sub Woofer -> Sub Woofer ON

Note: I have hacked software so I don't know if the navigation is exactly the same on OEM software.

haha... yeah, that was obvious...

note, if I ground the RCA shield manually, sub comes on.... so yes, the sub option is ON...

WRX USA... do you know how to fix the avic reboot loop issue? My 700 restarts every 3 minutes. Annoying.

Sorry for the thread Jack.

I don't know about the reboot issue. I'd check avic411.com to see if there are any fixes.

i do... LOL! there are 4 files you need to delete and it'll fix the problem...

the source is that these 4 files are generated if they do not exist but untouched even if corrupted. your GPS uses those files and if it's corrupted, it causes the system to go into a reboot loop. When you delete them, you need to do it FAST and delete all 4 before the first file you deleted gets generated again.

search avic411.com something along that line and you'll fine it.

so it turns out there is a blown fuse in the HU somewhere... I did the ground check between the chassis and pre out. Front and rear are at 0.8 ohm and sub is at open loop. So that explains my observation... now I need to figure out if i want to send it in for repair or pop the sucker open and do it myself...

Glad you figured it out. I was going to saying grounding issue or fuse. if you are handy with doing it yourself id do it yourself so you can have it done and not itch for your deck to be back. haha.

hmm if your warranty is ending soon id just milk the warranty just in case its more then the fuse that needs to be fixed. who knows what else it could be. can go any where from some simple fix to multiple things that need fixing.
