Car Amp locations?

I know there is a stereo forum but I needed some input fast.

Looking to mount the amp somewhere in the trunk, but any input on where? I looked around and saw no place where it was mountable. Not looking to place it under the seat.

I was thinking of just drilling it to the sub box, but how safe is that?

Thanks!

alot of people drill to the sub box but its actually not a smart idea because the subs use magnets and the amp is metal and the magnetic pull can cause problems and lower life spans of the subs and the amps. drill it to the side. of the trunk or just drill it to the floor next to your subs.

i figured i would cause damage to the amp and sub by drilling it to the box...I actually want to velcro it to the floor of the trunk so it wont move.

yeah ive had this problem too, i was looking at getting a rear strut bar and somehow mounting my amp to that...

something like this,

and then somehow make some bracket or ziptie combination to get it to stay..or mount in into the metal bar thats already there above it

im down to here some more suggestions as well

found this on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...em=#vi-content $32 rear strut bar, and then just mess around with it because its cheap enough to toy with

In my RSX I self tapping screwd my smll alpine amp to my rear seats. You can also Velcro it to the same spot or to the sub box itself which is pretty standard.

I have mine under my drivers seat as of now, great place.

I used to have it velcroed to my trunk, but it had overheating problems (since I didn't raise it at all, and it gets pretty hot in my trunk). Since then, I had a shop mount it to the rear seats. I think they somehow got a board in the seats and then mounted it to the board. Gives me more space in the trunk and haven't had overheating problems since.

very clean!...but totally out of the questions for me..haha...

i can see how the amp so close to the trunk surface can overheat..How about a small plank that is velcroed with the amp mounted to that?
