Sorry but there is no such thing as invalidated a warranty or "voiding" a warranty... I agree this is a little silly from both parties. But obviously you haven't read whole thread or even one that describes how warranties work.

I have a gold extended warranty on my 08 wrx I would never go in for a blown engine or tranny obviously because I have exhaust, tmic, headers, etc... Obviously, but what if my window stops rolling up? Completely unrelated parts or matters can't be "voided" or denied at least legally.

This is incorrect. Several things, including certain mods, will COMPLETELY void your warranty. The biggest of which is replacing the gauge cluster.
