That is not true at all. You have an after market "catalytic converter" that has not been approved by California Air Resource Board. Just because its catted doesnt mean its legal, it just means your helping the environment but still gaining some power. Im pretty sure cobb catted downpipes are not carb legal which makes it illegal. Any good smog shops will know its illegal and will fail since your car has 3 catalytic converters and your now missing 1.

Easy way of getting smogged is change your downpipe out (takes less then an hour) and make sure you have a carb sticker for the spt intake. If you have that done you can take it to any smog shop and your car will more then likly pass.

I'm assuming you didn't keep your stock downpipe which was a bad idea. If you really can't find anyone to lend you a cat. Find a plac le that doesn't care about visuals and dump two three gallons of e85 in.

I know this sounds like a dick thing to say, but unless you know this guy personally, I wouldn't tell him any locations that may or may not smog illegally modified cars publicly or privately. If you don't know him, for all you know, he could be someone looking to crack down on smog shops. I'm not saying he is, but it's always to be better safe than sorry.

He's asking for a smog shop that will illegally smog his car with illegal modifications on it. Just like the threads asking for nice roads to drive on, which allow cops to crack down on them, this is the same thing. If someone posts publicly, a shop that will smog him, it's like shooting fish in a barrel for LEOs.

As for advice to the OP. Put on your stock exhaust, make sure your SPT intake has a CARB sticker and, if your car is in good health, any smog station should pass your car.

I would never post anything that was iffy in a legal sense on a public forum.

If you know the guy and wanna PM him, that's your decision

the spt intake is carb legal. If you don't have the sticker, look up the exemption order on the C.A.R.B. website and print it out. As for the exhaust, you will need the stock down pipe at least.

Ok I guess swap back to stock is easiest... Any recommended place for cheap stock swap? I just want to get back to stock permanently (selling the car)

One problem is my AP is broken (doesn't turn on even plugging it in to computer)
Anyone know what I can do to return ECU to stock map? And how much that would cost.
