Can someone explain the difference between a WRX, WRX Limited, and an STi real quick?
I'm all mixed up thanks to my friend...
Is the Limited an STi, or is it a WRX? I thought the limited was an STi since it has black brembos, but people keep telling me that the limiteds were WRX Limiteds, not STi limiteds.
Can someone basically give me the info about the Limited cars, what are they? What makes them different?
Its bugging the hell out of me
I'm so out of touch with newer subarus and special models since I have no interest in them... I just focus on the models that I will potentially buy, this is a sign that I am getting older, I used to want every piece of info on every car on the subaru line up, from who makes the stock muffler to what kind of bolts are used throughout the car. Now I suck... Someone hug me... Preferable a female, someone like Mike from GST. I love resting my face on Mike's warm and soft bosom when I'm sad.

STI Limited....my favorite of the GD models.
2007 model year only. Trunk-mounted lip spoiler instead of large dual-plane rear spoiler, the black aluminum roof vane spoiler is deleted, add front lip spoiler, Enkei/BBS wheels with high-luster paint, black Brembo brake calipers with white lettering, black gloss B-pillar paint, high luster paint for the exterior mirrors, fog lights, dark gray metallic bezels and interior trim. Also new carpeting with improved sound insulation materials, an auto-dimming compass rear view mirror and an audio system input jack for an iPod or other digital music player. Finally, each car in this series gets a sequential number plate, available in a limited run of 800 numbered units, 400 in Satin White Pearl and 400 in Urban Gray Metallic.

The Limited was a production run of 800 2007 STI's with leather interior a special spoiler, and a few other bells and whistles.
The big differences between the WRX and the STI are:
-Tranny, the WRX is a 5 speed and STI's are a 6 speed. (Think the clutch may be different too, but don't quote me on that).
-The Engine is mostly the same, but the STI engine is tuned for higher performance and does not need to meet the same emissions requirements as the WRX (Subaru chose the STI as its lone exception). This is true for the 2006+ WRX's. The pre 2006 WRX's have the EJ205 engine.
-The Chasis on the WRX is the GDA while the Chasis on the STI is the GDB, I'm not sure the exact specs, but the GDB Chasis is made of a higher strength steel. The STI pays for it by being slightly heavier than the WRX, but will experience less torsional flex in the body.
-The suspension on the stock STI is substantiall stiffer than the WRX and the sway bars are 20/20 to the WRX's 20/18.
-STI's recieved the larger brembo brakes and BBS (lighter) wheels.
-STI's in 2006-07 recieved the diffusing secondary spoiler, WRX's did not. STI's of course have the bigger stock wing.
-There are various other differences throughout the STI that make is a superior car to the WRX, examples would be aluminum control arms and things of that nature.
Hope this helps.
