They're asking to voluntarily go to the police and tell them that someone stole something of yours which is illegal to use on public roads? I sure hope for your sake that this AccessPort you've lost is for an off-road use only car.

just say someone broke into your track car and stole it. How else would a police report be written? if they saw it actually happen?

well most of em wont have any idea wtf it is anyway not to mention i dont see it as being much different as getting a deck stolen from your car....at least i hope not? but as for the ecu reflash its on the stage 1 right now and i talked to the guy from cobb and if i get another accessport i wont be able to flash the ecu until its returned back to stock which blows cause thats another $65 out of my pocket on top of buying a new accessport

in the car =/= installed on car

Just like you can't get pulled over for having a catless downpipe in your back seat.

no, doesn't do that with the v1 or v2, it'll revert back to the basemap you originally flashed, no the realtime

Truth. Are you afraid they are gonna slap the cuffs on you when you say you AP was stolen? No, they're just gonna think, 'dammit, more paperwork' and fill out the same form they have filled out 100 times before.
Just tell 'em it is a device that hooks into your OBDII and displays real time data. (unless that is illegal too, idk)
