CA highway pothole damage claim?

i've read that if you got hit by road debris on the freeway, you may file a complaint/claim with the state, is it the same case if you bent a rim on a pothole on 101?

good luck bro.

I hit a section in union city where they were doing construction. They had cut the road down like 4 inches and didn't put an angle on it. I hit it going like 75 or so. Blew all 4 of my struts and bent a wheel. Another time I hit one and bent a fender.

They will run you in circles until you get tired.

Basically with the highway one you'll have to deal with caltrans. If it was something they were working on then they might take responsibility..but I doubt it.

If it was just something in the road or a pot hole. You're pretty much screwed. If it's bad you can take it up with your insurance..I don't think it goes against your insurance rates but you do have to pay the deductible.

i've fought Caltrans about a pothole on the freeway in heavy rain. Obviously unable to see at night. Yeah, I lost. It sucks, man.
