a/c shop
My A/C has been borked since the summer and I've narrowed the problem down to the expansion valve (which is in the passenger side firewall area.)
I already have my dash apart for other reasons, so It'll take me like an hour tops to get to the valve and replace it. However, I have no way of properly dealing with the refrigerant, and will not just vent it.
So I need someplace that will pull out the old refrigerant, let me have my car back so I can fix the expansion valve, then I can come back and have them pull a vacuum on it for half an hour, then pump in new refrigerant.
I have no idea where to go for mundane crap like that. I know if I just walk into joe shop or someplace in the phone book they'll give me crap for doing the valve replacement myself because book value on that valve is crazy high due to all parts of the dash that has to be pulled out.
I live in Dublin and would prefer not to drive too far for this. Also looking for someplace that will be open between Christmas and New Year so I can do it while on forced vacation time.
