That's what the actions of ONE good person could do. People are followers. Had that one man not done what he did everyone else would have been like the driver... watching the dude burn while the 'pros" do it.
Saved that kids foot no doubt. Probably his leg.
Oh... and the did the right thing leaving him there. They had no way of knowing the extent of his injuries. They got him away from immediate danger. Let the medics administer first aid and get him in a bus.

That and the video stops. The officer walks back to the kid, turns and motions to someone. That is more than likely another officer or first responder that can come and move him safely.
They drug the dude on his head out of there. If that guy then picks him up and carries him somewhere... the kid lives but is paralyzed from the waste time... he can sue. They moved him out of harms way. The next step is to check vitals and get him moved properly.
Plus... it's not the movies. Very rarely do you see cars EXPLODE. Catch fire and burn to a crisp, sure. But explode. Rarely. Unless that dude has a mobile meth lab in his car. The risk of further injury is way higher than the car actually exploding. And I'm quite sure they had the kid on picked up (not drug) and safely secured away from the burning vehicle shortly after the video was taken.
Either way. They all stepped up and did a great job. Except the dude involved in the accident. He is standing there messing with his phone. I know he was "in shock" but he clearly was more concerned about himself. Dude was probably on his phone when he did it.
p.s. I have lifeguard training, medical training, first responder first aid and a current CPR/first aid certification.

there was one case a few years ago, where someone dragged a woman from a car crash through the windshield. she sued and won.
why? she wasnt in immediate danger. car wasnt on fire or leaning over a ledge. but someone grabbed her and pulled her through the windshield (IIRC) and she suffered some major injuries.
