usually if you wait for the ticket to come in the mail, it will say if corrected pay $xxx.xx, and if not corrected pay $xxx.xx

The amount for unpay is somwhere around the $300 range, if you pay that you can get it away without having to go to the ref. That's how it works for my friend. He just paid the extra fine and he did not change anything in his car nor did he go to the ref and he was still able to register his car that year.

u have to pass with the ref man u cant do that i already thought that through im just welding a stock cat from my friends 98 legacy gt arount my HKS and cutting out my stock heat shield to put over the top n its back to stock they'll never know..i hope. i got away with a $76 fine for limo on the fronts, no plates n no cats tho so its all goin back on until they can really get me with a HUGE fine then ill go catted-the expensive way.

some of you folks should start carrying your own SPL meters so when the next time you are asked, "you know how loud you are?"

you say, "yes..."

it seems like you need a decible meter nowdays because some police are jerkoffs! Not all, but most have a power issue! Im going to get one just so I wont have to hassle with the other bull!

SPL = sound pressure level measured in decibles (dB)

the one i got from radio shack

http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...667&cp=2032057

i use it to tune the audio in my car and the home theater.

but lately, it's in car in case i get stopped.

fry's sells a "more professional" looking out for around $70. was surprised to see one there...

http://shop4.outpost.com/search;jses...pType=pDisplay

outpost = fry's online presence... the one with a boom type mic...

good luck to all. eventually, this silliness will stop. i know i've heard louder cars than my STi...

Save the Catless-ness for the track (or the Dyno ) I don't want to smell daily driver catless funk!!

I've been pulled by CHP for my Blitz NUR on my old RS... Simply visual. Doing 40 in a 45 in 5th gear! Got ticket for 'modified exhaust'. He didn't put any details, so I bolted up the stock can, took it to the local PD, had them sign it off... Sold it as "See the tip was big, but its a factory exhaust". I was proly lucky.

Otherwise, pay the fine, and they say 'thank you have a nice day!' But get a cat on there!!! No excuse for running catless on the street. Thats for RICERS who want 10 more hp out of their slow *** integra doo.... Sorry bud. Still slow.

Dont be THAT GUY. Your Subaru Deserves better.
