What he's not telling you...

is that he drives it 1/4 mile at a time...with a stage 6 mod list, full dog-box transmission, and has never driven a stick before.

I think that your clutch is getting it self ready for a massive surge of tq which never arrives so it is getting angry......I think a gt35r and some e85 should make it happy

Considering you recently posted a thread about being a n00b to stick shift, I'd say you toasted the clutch. Unless there is a known defect with the brz drivetrain the dealer will most likely say its wear and tear/abuse.

The brz second gear sychro seems to be a piece of **** and the tranny feels grindy when its cold. For some reason the car seems to want you to not add throttle when shifting but not let fully off the gas, letting off to a 1-2 percent throttle when you shift. Hope that makes sense.

Theres quite a few threads that recommend changing the tranny/ rear diff fluid to get rid of the notchiness. IMO this goes away when the car is heated up and some good quality fluids would probably help, but I'm worried some people seem to just be using a lighter oil which may help cold but also may protect less. That being said everyone says it helps a lot with the how smooth the car is, and the that the tranny seems to work better?

If you are referring to the thump when shifting sometimes it's normal, subaru put out a bulletin and thingy in their "drive" mag.

BRZ MANUAL TRANSMISSION SOUNDS

You may notice, or customers may question, a "thump" or "thunk" sound intermittently when placing the new six-speed manual transmission into first or reverse while stopped. This is a characteristic of the transmission operation which occurs when any remaining input shaft rotation is brought to a quick stop by gear selection. If enough time is given for the shaft to stop turning on its own, then no thump will occur. No wear or damage is occurring as a result of this action. This sound may be more noticeable as the gear oil warms and gear selection is able to be accomplished with greater speed.
