poor tiger, our species nearly wipes them out of existence, and then cage and parade them, then kill them for doing what they're meant to do. not that i dont feel bad for the kid that died and his friends, but think about it, theres billions of us, and 800 of them...

Yeah, I mean, how could it not be expected? You're gonna cage the poor thing up and expect it not to be pissed off or want to escape? Poor kid. Poor tiger. There are somethings that just aren't meant to be put into a cage and "domesticated"

well that F'n place is straight out of the 60's, crappiest zoo evarrrrr...time for a remodel.
Imagine if they caged up people 40 years ago, they wouldve escaped today with all those free runners and martial artists bouncing off walls and climbing buildings with no hand holds. Maybe the tigers learned from watching people walk by bouncing off isht
I dont see why they didnt tranquilize the tiger...i couldnt see killing it until it ran into the public streets.

Because they're stupid and I suppose it's like the dog attack thing. I know here at least, if a dog attacks someone or such the dog gets put down by law, reguardless of whether it was antagonized or not.

I can see why they put down dogs, sucks that the dogs fate got put in the hands of a crappy owner, but sorry, if they attack they need to be treated as a human would, except there are no dog prisons...yet
But having to kill a tiger, is like, why?

Yeah, I aggree with that. I think it was stupid to kill it. Its a tiger, what the hell did you expect? But I guess in their eyes it was best dead.
Probably so it didn't go back and teach the other tigers.

"The 300-pound tiger, a 4-year-old female named Tatiana, was the same animal that ripped the flesh off a zookeeper's arm just before Christmas 2006"
They didn't put it down then, and though it's tragic, they should have taken different actions.

^^ That's what I was thinking, don't they get up to like 700-800-900 lbs or something like that?
I feel really bad for the kid, only 17 y/o's and had to pass away ON Christmas out of all the days. I feel bad for his family also and I do feel bad for the poor tiger, if I was caged up like that, of course I would be pissed too.

Guys! He was shot AS HE WAS MAULING another victim!!!
Yes, it's sad that there are zoos and those animals are there for our amusement, but this animal already mauled another man last year and had just killed yet another man only moments before an officer shot him that night!
A tranquilizer? If that was your son, or friend under that cat... would you be willing to wait for a tranquilizer???

I don't feel bad for that idiot kid... He had his leg dangling down the wall, taunting the tiger... The tiger did what a tiger would do!
I feel bad that the tiger was killed.

^^ Really? He had his leg dangling taunting the tiger? I didn't know about that! I thought the tiger escaped and he was like, just some random kid that got attacked. He doesn't deserve to die, but it IS his fault for acting stupid. I can't people kids these days.
