Bonsai!
Anyone into Bonsai around here? I'm not into it now, but I will be in 10 years, so I started trimming/growing some! haha.
Also where can I find a decent Bonsai forum/website!? I keep finding crappy ones
I have 2 12" canopy Junipers I trimmed up from $8 Monrovia bushes, probably 3 years old.
A cool Pine.
A few Olive trees I took out of an old ladies yard before I rototilled it.
A New Zealand Tea Tree, some other random roots I pulled out of the ground at random parks
My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana, I said "No, but I want a regular banana later, so ... yeah". -Mitch Hedberg

first place to hit up is the library...and look for this publication:
http://www.internationalbonsai.com/
that magazine has everything you need/want to know about bonsai.

I cant believe when i search "Bonsai" in SF i get like 4 results not relating to plants. Theres got to be a bonsai place in SF. Lone Pine in Sebastapol is the Holy Grail from what i imagine.
I have one of those in the first pic. I bought it 15 years ago when i was little, now it is 18" tall, 2" thick and has 5 fronds at the top...so wasn't really maintained with bonsai in mind but i'm grateful its still alive.
yours is gonna have a fat trunk it looks like
thanks

so despite all the searching of maps and websites for Bonsai in the area, I assumed Japantown would have a shop and they did. I went after school and it is pretty cool. Small but cool.
Im gonna buy some soil there by the pound, they do any kind of mix you want.
Good selection of pots, though kinda pricey.
Good Bonsai books there too.

I grabbed a bunch of these off a hillside on Sky|ine. Yamadori = collected from mountians, wallet stay fat
I grabbed these from my road too. They will look nice if they make it til next year!
