BMW's The Ultimate Drive for the Breast Cancer Foundation
So today I went to Steven's Creek BMW for this test drive for breast cancer.
This was free of course. I reg'd for it about 1 month ago.
Choose a vehicle, take it for a drive, and we'll donate $1 per mile on your behalf to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, our partner in raising over $7 million for research in the past seven years.
I got a chance to drive a Z4 3.0 steptronic and 745Li steptronic. No manual tranny cars were available although they did have a 545i w/ SMG but I didn't feel like waiting.
The Z4 was quite peppy even for an auto. We had to go on a pre-determined 16 mi. route up 280N, then back on 280S back to the dealership. It handled the on/off ramps easily. Oh and 2 punk kids in a black Camry got pulled over right in front of me when they zoomed past me going 90+ and CHP was right next to me.... haha
The 745 was UBER quiet and had GOBS of torque in every gear. Man, this thing is an awesome grand touring car. The suspension was damn plush but the interior controls were damn hard to figure out initially (stupid iDrive console). The engine start button was neato.
I could have driven a 645 but I didn't wanna wait the 1+ hr for the people ahead of me to get their turn 1st.
