Question Blow off valve Smell?

I have a question. For you people with BOVs, do you guys get like a burning clutch or rubber smell? I borrowed a BOV from my friend and installed it recently and i've been smelling something thats burnt eversince i installed it. I know it hurts performance because i can feel the difference but i just wanted to put it on for fun for awhile. I love the Fireballs!!!! Can you guys help me out for you experienced people that may have experienced this.

thanks,
jason

If you used any type of grease for the recirculation/plumb back hose, then you may get a small for a little bit (just means you used a little too much grease). If you're 100% atmospheric, I'm not too sure where the smell would be coming from. Possibly blow by from your intercooler. Have you tried putting a finger inside your intercooler to see if there's any residue, like oil etc?

maybe it's venting a little bit of crankcase ventilation to the atmosphere?

this would smell like burning oil...

Just have to take off the BOV and poke a finger inside.

So what was the problem?
