biz trip to taiwan. what to do?

Hey guys, just thought i'd give it a shot. im goin on a biz trip to taiwan tommorow for a week. never been there before, and im not taiwanese. any well traveled BAICers got any suggestions of what i should try to see/do? preferably within walking distance of the brother hotel in taiwan. so i dont get TOO lost. Any help would be nice. just trying to make themost of a suck *** trip.

also, i havent been out of the country travelling for like 10+ years any travelling tips? what to do while im waiting/on the plane/killing time/jetlag solutions etc.? im not good at travelling on my own so again, any and all help is welcomed. thanks guys!

Be sure to bring medicine for your stomach, e.g. you might have a case of diarrhea if you're not used to the food. Try out all the little shops that have food, it's great stuff and it's very inexpensive.

It's lots of fun to go out to the market street at night - that's where all the fun begins. I haven't been back to Taiwan in a long time, so, yeah.

As for all the comments about hookers and trannies = ucbsti is right, it's Taiwan, not Thailand. =/ I'm sure there's some redlight district like that, but I have no idea where it is nor do I care to find out.

lol, im actually half thai, and you'd be suprised at the amount of people who don't know the difference (or that thailand is its own independent country, whos lang/culture/people are way different than the taiwanese)

me:yeah im half thai
ignorant people: so do you speak taiwanese?

true story
