Luckily, I've only had a run in with 1 cop who treated me pretty poorly. However, with many events similar to this ocurring, I'm wondering if it would be worth it to pay a few hundred $$ to get a dash cam setup on my car to cover my *** if this ever happens.

I finally watched the video...
1. LEO opened his mouth and said the wrong thing.
2. He lost his cool
3. He obviously came up with a charge AFTER the fact.
4. Arresting for said crime is over the top. ESPECIALLY given the weekend.
5. What the OTHER officer recorded and went through has NOTHING to do with this particular case.
6. The rider was respectful and correct in what he did.
You can clearly see on the officers dash cam that all the bikes went through at a reasonable speed. He picks one out and that bike immediately pulls over.
I hate to say it but this dudes case looks solid to me. That police department is gonna have to pay up and that officer should be suspended without pay even if it's only for a couple days.
You are trained to not loose your cool like that. And the dude KNEW there was a camera on. Stupid.
Sorry but this crap pisses me off. I got pulled over in my early 20's for street racing. I was NOT street racing. Some frat boys in a yellow mustang pulled up and started throwing revs. I saw the officer on my right about a block up. So I threw a rev at the idiot. (I suppose there could be a charge there). Light went green and they took off. I drove the speed limit. A couple miles later I got pulled over by 3 police cars. They had one officer distracting me and asking me questions about my car while the rest of them talked behind my car. They asked me to flash my tail light (mustang had one out). I did not. I heard the officer say this is not the vehicle.
I ended up getting shouted at and got enough tickets to fill the lines front and back of two tickets. Because of this I went home and was so pissed I started ripping my car apart with my bare hands. I ended up selling it because every time I went out after 10pm I got pulled over after that.
I spent a year calling the DA's office every week or two until they finally told me the ticket was never submitted and I didn't have to worry about it. But by this time I had sold the car and it was totaled by the new owner and I was in a subaru wagon.
Another time I had an officer get so pissed at me I nearly punched the guy. The girl next to me had to jump on my arm. The dude cut me off and forced me on to the center divide. He then slammed on his brakes and forced me to drive sideway to get out of his way. And he pulled me over. When he came flying up to my window and started screaming at me I calmly said... sir what did I do wrong. He said you nearly caused an accident. I calmly said... no sir, if you'll turn around and look at the lines I had the right away and you ran me off the road. This sent the guy in to an angry fit in which he cussed at me, spit in my face and put his finger on my chest. When he touched me I lost it. Mind you this was my FIRST ticket EVER. I was young and dumb or I would have done exactly what this guy did.
Officers are not ALWAYS right. They have to deal with huge amounts of stress (like this chp officer that just got shot) and deal with *** holes and idiots all day. But that doesn't mean they can get away with loosing it. It's an unfortunate part of the job.

Understand this, you can say what ever you want to a cop as long as its not threating in any way. Being rude to a cop don't give a cop the right to do what he did to the guy on the bike. I would of done no different, cops think they are above the law. My Dad was a Cop for 35 years, I have heard story's that are much worse. That cop had no right to pull him over in the first place then comes up with a reason, cops will always give more then one charge because they want to get yah on atleast one and will drop the tuffer charge and get yah with the lesser charge!

lol those other 2 cops who came by just decided to block the whole offramp and go "Hey there's a Marriott over there, let's go grab a bite to eat and use the restroom since we're here".

I've been a cop but not for long and defense attorney videos (or any other kind) can't protect you from a bad attitude. The most dangerous is your own. Who wants a large verdict for a thrashing?
I do think the cop gave it away when he said "I want your camera for evidence of crimes that MAY HAVE BEEN COMMITTED" It does not work that way but the warrant talk to seize private property is not correct.
One of the guys I worked with did a search of a car (warrant-less and without probable cause). After he arrested the guy, he found something and then tried to say it was "Incident to a lawful arrest." Wrong! First you need a lawful arrest and then a search, inventory works, may lead to other charges and the stuff can be seized.
I also am old enough to have been detained a number of times for "long hair in public" (once in TX - scary that was) which is like "black in Beverly Hills" or a "biker in Dallas"
All in all, be polite and cooperative. Better to argue with someone that knows the law, has sense and won't shoot your butt

Soo, clearly in the officer's video, it was a different douche bag that was stopping in front of the cops. Not a guy with a white shirt and a camera.
Then the cop states the reason for pulling him over is for his camera... without cause? Then comes up with cause AFTER? Therefore the arrest, and everything prior to pulling over the guy with the cam was wrong. Douchebag or not.
