Bike Riders...

Anyone here do rides?

I just did the Konocti Challenge metric century ride (65 mi.) around Clearlake yesterday. Took me under 6 hours of seat time, and was a real blast!!

This is between Lower Lake and Clearlake Riviera (the altitude changes), and was the most challenging part of the entire ride.

I rewarded myself by purchasing one of their jerseys to celebrate.

Good for you Roo, I don't ride nearly as much as I used to, really should do more, but now the season is ending, something to work on next year I guess...

Season isn't over yet!!

Silke and I are going to do the 25k ride, as she isn't quite as thoroughly used to her bike as I am from riding to/from work (20mi./day). I did it as a challenge when I thought my parents weren't coming for the family fun ride...

...and it was raining, so I didn't think they were coming. It worked out for the best, however, since my dad was the only one who was going to be able to make it. They did drive the course until they found me, then were standing on the side of the road cheering me on as I rode past...

...then met up with me at the final rest stop.

Greg - that's great! I don't ride as much as I used to either. Longest ride I did was Cranham to Freshford (approx 41 miles) in England on a 3-speed that was already 20 years old in 1978!! Way too many hills. I was so exhausted I couldn't even hold the newspaper the next morning! Took the train home ...
