Well that and for those punks who race/speed on the streets, I guess it would be pretty sad to say you got beat by a car with a roof rack too. hahaha

One thing i do know is that suby have a reason to have a rack. You can actually take our cars out to the mountains and not get stuck. Our cars are for that. But a dump civic with a rack? those cars cant even go up their own driveways? its deff become a "looks" thing along with hanging little dolls off your rear bumper...like wtf dood!

It's the import guys picking up on older Euro trends, too, just like the herrafrush thing.

Difference is, old Euro stuff has raingutters so you end up with a lot of vintage racks, wood slats, junk on top, etc. The guys doing it to Japanese cars these days, there's no roof span, and it's all $$$ Yak or Thule setups. I'm sure it'll pass in a couple years.

I leave the base rack on both cars, and just bolt on the attachments I need when appropriate. No doubt that it's a stealth mod on the STi, but I've just always had a usable rack system on my car.

Oh, I forgot, obligatory "z0mg my roofrack is full of ****" shot from when I helped a buddy move. lol:

I betcha that fairing gives ya like 200lbs of downforce

But I'm too lazy to take the time to remove mine. Sometimes I spontaneously want to ride. Also, if I have a friend who wants to come along, I don't want to go through the tedious process of putting it back on. It doesn't take long to put the rack on, but I don't think its worth removing it.

As for security, check out meh cable lock:

Form and function. I think it looks good and allows my small-*** car to carry my bikes, snowboards, kayaks, and surfboards. They're great racks, but a PITA to take on and off with that messy goop it leaves behind, so I leave mine on always.

Guys. Guys.
You know you have all seen the dumped 240s with no tread showing wires and a welded diff up in Tahoe passing the Subarus and 4x4 trucks on the freeway...

They totally make use of the racks on top.

if it was a trend, i'd rather have a rack(which i do use for my bikes) than put a useless tow hook in front of my car for no apparent reason. you know who you are haha. haters gon' hate!

I don't think it's being a hater...
It is just asking a legitimate question...
WHY?!

this could be true. my car is tinted, semi-loud, and has tinted tail lights, and cops usually follow me around my neighborhood and just take off after a minute or so. kind of nice so i'm not going to complain lol.
