I think if your going to buy the STi in 8 months, its a great idea to wait until the 06 comes out so the 05 will be a bit cheaper, but then..if the 06 that comes out is really good with a lot of nice upgrades, then you'll probably want to wait and buy the 06..so, either way, just wait for it to come out.

Are they finally selling them @ retail price, or with the fooking rediculous $8 grand markup?

Seems like I saw a WRX STi at Stevens Creek a month ago for $43k, but I know they don't count.

I thought the next major revision will be for our '07s, not the '06s?

I would just get an '05 for the best deal you find...

Carlsen Subaru had an ad in SF Chronicle on Feb 4 for '05 STi:

MSRP: $33,524
Discount: $2,125
Net Cost: $31,399
and get limited term financing as low as 1.9%

I bought mine today from Patrick at Crypress Coast Subaru in Seaside. He will do $200 over invoice. If you buy one from him, send me a PM and I'll give you some tips. Plus they'll give me a $50 gas card for the referral. ;-)

When I bought my car almost 3 years ago, Carlsen gave me the best deal. I didn't care that I had to drive from the north bay.
