Best DMV to go to?
#16
Daly City DMV is horrible. I've gone there for pretty much everything including permit/license testing, title/registration, and more. Workers are rude (ha.) and it's just crowded in there.
The San Mateo DMV is awesome. I've only been here once but it was my best DMV experience. The staff is a lot more friendlier and there's barely any lines (I even went in around 4pm!).

Looks like I'll be making a trip to San Mateo, or maybe I'll just make an appt in Fremont since I need to go to the Fremont Court House anyway. It doesn't matter what DMV I go to, does it? I mean, it's not county specific, right? It's all CA, so it doesnt matter which one someone goes to, right? Just wanted to confirm that since all my previous DMV dealings have been in Alameda county, but now I live in Santa Clara county.

If you have AAA, and depending on what you need to accomplish at the DMV, you can take care of many DMV related chores at your local AAA office.

^Yeah, I mentioned AAA earlier and the longest I had to wait there was 10 minutes because the clown in front of me had to go out to his car twice to get stuff and the clerk wouldn't help anyone till he got back. I just drove by the Los Gatos DMV and it was a mad house there with several people waiting for parking.

AAA/DMV Offices cannot print out driving records and or give you Sequential Numbers for 9/11 Memorial Plates as well. Other than that you can do just about anything at those offices.
Oh yeah if you are trying to help out a friend and get them their Reg Sticker you can no longer do that, it is only for AAA Members and or those on your AAA Roadside Membership

Lines in no comparison to DMV lines.
AAA membership pays off in more ways than one.
