I went there due to good feedback here on iclub. I had 1 bent rim with a cracked lip. They saw the wheel and assured it can be repaired and the color can be matched to it's original ssr anthracite color when complete, for a total of 250. This was for one wheel I had no problem with that, but when i went to pick up the wheel, it was nowhere near the original color. They said they would respray it again, if i can drop off another wheel so they can colormatch it. Did that, and they said they'll get right to it, and match it and i'll have it back in 3 days. Called them 3 days later, they didn't even start! . All in all, i had to get ALL of my wheels resprayed to a diff color, took 5 weeks total, and had to pay additional money to get the remaining 3 resprayed.

Glad u had a good experience with them, in my case, it was awful.

I drove all the way down to South Bay since I heard good things about wheeltechniques. I had a bent lip. They quote me 250 and said will not cut me a deal and warn me that they might not be able to match the color of my bronze gramslight. I said screw it.. i can buy a new one for that price.

So don't go there unless you have some expensive rims.

i have had very good experiences w/ www.bentrim.com aka wheels of america. For $129 to repair a damaged wheel is actually a very good price. Not sure why some people think its expensive.

This is an additude I have never really understood...
Why would they "cut you a deal"? They are in the biz of repairing wheels, it costs what it costs. Have you ever asked a supermarket to cut you a deal on a loaf of bread?
When I worked at a speed shop nothing would **** me off quicker than someone asking for a discount BEFORE asking what somthing costs.

I'd say if anything I'd be impressed that they were up front with you about the price an color matching issue. You made an intelligent, informed decision based on the info they gave you.
... so why the bad blood?

well its worth it to ask when you let them know your not gonna give them your business since you can buy a new wheel for that price.

What does it take, an hour of work on a machine thats already paid for?

if wheel techniques see a set of $2000 wheels come in, thats when you stick it to the customer (theyre rich), but when a guy with a cheaper wheel comes in, you have to cut them a break if you want to stay in business and get your name out there (in a positive way, aka THIS THREAD!) they have now lost business due to the last few posts.

If you can repair a rim for what a new one costs, you might as well just buy a new one.

Just because you bought cheap wheels doesn't mean you are entitled to get a discount on repairs. Personally, I would never consider fixing any of my wheels because I don't have expensive/rare wheels. I had two bent stockers last year, but I got two new stock wheels off a friend here for way cheaper. If I ever bend one of my rotas, I'll just get a new one. Repairing rims only seems like a good solution if you have really hard to replace wheels. Otherwies, just buy new ones and be done with it.

does bent rim do repairs and repaints/dips in a new color for that fixed price? I'd imagine theyd have to redo the coating on the whole wheel after a repair so I'm assuming so....
