I have a D3 as well and love it. good screen size. dual layered DVD filled with MP3's is good for me

the only thing i don't like is putting in the nav disk

Price range?

I personally love my Kenwood DNX8120, but that's just me... it is quite pricey, but you probably will be able to get a good deal during the holidays, esp. with the economy in the toilet.

I've also seen some people who have had pretty good success with the carputer.

I see a lot of people trying to pass the 1.0 with the same price as 2.0...

actually, it's just a firmware/software update
http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18951

it's a free update http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...+AVIC+F-Series

so pioneer started shipping the units out with the new firmware. it saves you the hassle of having to do the update yourself

my buddy hasn't bought one yet, but he's probably going to get the 90BT since its' a good price. the live+ebay cashback just went back up to 20%. the 90BT's on ebay are about $637-20% cashback is a pretty decent deal

ahhh... i see...

I am temping to just have my local audio guy install it for me...

I see unit going for about $680 after tax and shipping... Then I need the dash kit and wiring about $65 shipped. That would bring me to about $745 installed if I install it myself. The ship is charging me $800 installed. I know I can probably get that deal you were talking about for ~$200 cheaper. But I would have to wait and I am not sure how to handle possible defect and warranty related issues.

From talking to a few people that are in that area of specialty i have heard that the Kenwood DNX8120 is the best on the market.

thanks, researching that right now... looks pretty nice but seem a lot more expansive than the F90BT...

damn, this is a tough one... looks like the DNX8120 and the F90BT are very close...

I don't really care for the type of map, so Garmin doesn't really sell me.
6.9" is definitely a plus, but also comes with a price tag.
Boot time seems to be slower on the F90BT, but not sure if that really matters.
Always worry about the motorized screen in long term use...

So a lot more money for extra 1.1" screen size, with Garmin, faster boot time, but motorized screen... hmmm....

$800 installed for the F90BT

hmmm....

I read reviews on it and it looks good, just pricey.

the only difference that I really see from the 90BT and the DNX8120 is that the pioneer screen is smaller, but it has hard drive storage space for music (only 10 gigs but can be upgraded).
but if you use an ipod anyways, then there is your music source. or put tons of songs on a dual layered dvd.

I think if you are willing to pay the money for the 7", then get the kenwood but the price range from the 90BT and DNX8120 is a pretty big gap

i'm not sure what the boot time on those are, but my D3 is only like 15~ seconds. This is not even noticable to me since I turn my car on and during that time I'm putting on my seatbealt, getting comfy, checking mirrors, etc. plus the engine is cold anyways and some people wait for it to warm up
