The Kirkland beer is regional breweries, ours just happens to be GB, IIRC. On the same note, Trader Joe's Mission Street Pale Ale is Firestone-Walker.

I was under the impression that the vodka was actually the exception to that. However, I don't drink vodka so I don't really care about who makes it

I should also emphisize... with the Beer, its not the same recipie going in the bottle. GB does an "Economy Run" for Kirkland.
All that said, the Gray Kangeroo is still the way to go!

But yeah, the Mission Street Pale Ale is base beer of Firestone-Walker Pale Ale, but the the FW version they then mix in a little bit of the DBA. I don't know who does the Mission Street IPA. In the interview with the brewer I listened to they didn't say that it was the same as Union Jack, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was similar. Might have to grab some 6-pacls on do a side my side test
Also, at the 2010 GABF (Great American Beer Fest) Mission Street Pale won gold in the APA category, FW Pale won silver

The Kirkland beers are contract brewed by one of two different breweries that are somewhat obscured – East Coast beers come from New Yorker Brewing out of Utica, NY. You won’t find anything on the web about them, but some astute BeerFathers readers note that it’s actually done at the Sarnac Matt Brewing Company facility (also known as FX Matt Brewing Company).
For the West Coast beers those come from the Hopfen und Malz Company out of San Jose, CA. Again, you won’t find anything on the web about them, but it’s actually done at the Gordon Biersch Brewing Company (since Costco headquarters are on the West Coast, it makes sense they would have started with Gordon Biersch first and then expanded to an East Coast operation).

I basically stopped drinking Grey Goose 3 or 4 years ago in favor of Ketel One. I don't drink enough of it for the price to make much of a difference, but I like that Ketel One actually has a little flavor. I know the point of vodka is to be flavorless, but Goose & Tonic is just boring.
