check out skyline college and their automotive program. it's sponsored by toyota and you can get 50% off snap-on tools. several of my friends are currently enrolled in those classes. they say its fun and you actually learn alot about cars.

my friends took Auto Tech for ROP and dropped it after the first semester. I went to one class because i didnt feel like going to my 6th period and it was a joke. Just a bunch of kids standing around cars while other people do the work. The only reason i didnt take the class is because i already do all the work on my car and dont think i would learn anything by taking it.

I owned a VW bug that broke down almost everyday and required the valves to be adjusted every other week. I could pull the motor and have it on a stand in 10 minutes. That is where I got all of my auto experience. Thanks VW!!!

hmm... although i love cars, i don't wanna spend a lot of valuable time learning about em. I think that there's not a lot of money to make in the mechanical world... I'd rather drive a lambo than just know about em...
god i'm going to get flammed for this.
i might take a summer course, just so i know what i'm doing. save me some money... hate dealers.

In highschool I got to take 1 semester of Autoshop.
Got to rebuild a 1/2 liter, 4 stroke, 1cyl lawnmower engine. woot!
Not like I could do anything with a modern engine, but I still had lots of fun that whole semester.
(Funny thing is, though, is that I wasn't really a car guy when I took the class. I actually took it by accident)
