I want to try archery. I've never done it before.

Where can I go where they provide the equipment, some brief training, and range time to get the taste experience?

Edit: South Bay

I went to pacifica archery off junipero serra in Daly city a few years back. They were really nice. The guy there gave us the basics of how to shoot and we went at it. they have rental equipment and an indoor range.

Archery is awesome! I was very close to buying my own recurve after my class. I would like to get back into it again too, get my rambo instincts.

There should be plenty of places around san jose, some require you to bring your own gear. Im sure renting the gear should not be too expensive, I would just search. I know my classmates tried some archery ranges to practice off class time.

I know there's a indoor range that provides everything you need in Benicia, but that's a good drive for you.

Ditto Pacifica Archery since like my local shop they also have South-Paw kits available to try out with a reasonable indoor-range.

Where are you specifically?

I use Archery Only these days if/when I just wanna go and plunk since I recently traded off my old compound Martin.

Both places are great on service and selection. Both can tell you about Demo-Days as well.

Awesome idea!! I have been hunting a few times but not since the mid 90's. Would love to give it a try again.

+1 for the Foothill collage program. I did it and so did my sister. She can put a quiver of arrows in a paper plate from across a basketball court!

Found a place in palo alto that does lessons, equip, and range.

The foothill thing would require enrollment right?

Here is a good place to look. I am sure one of them can give instructions:

County of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department - Play Here - Archery Ranges - Parks and Recreation - County of Santa Clara

Also, I took archery class at De Anza years back. So much fun.

I think it was around $50 or so for the rentals and range time for 2. Last time I went was a few years ago so I might not be remembering correctly and/or the prices could have changed.
